Dreamy - an Impressionist style chalk pastel drawing of a seated nude woman
Friday, January 7, 2005 by Benjamin Bader
Though I've never been a big fan of Impressionism, it's difficult not to create Impressionist style images when working with chalk pastel. This is especially true when you are given a short time to create an image before the model changes her pose. While taking a life drawing class in college, we were often given only five minutes to render the human figure before the model would be asked to assume a new position. This chalk pastel drawing of a seated female nude was one of those images. During a studio move in 2011, this piece was lost, along with a number of other works, leaving the photographs I took of them as evidence of their creation.
